Description of Project Progress |
|
Due to ORT JET’s position in the community, calls were
constantly being received from individuals looking for
employment and ORT JET also received requests from their
consultant database for potential employees from within the
Jewish community. The repose from ORT JET was to launch JETJobs, another way that ORT JET can assist the Jewish
community. The individuals seeking employment range from
newly qualified students to professional and
non-professional individuals with many years of work
experience.
JETJobs does not function as an employment agency and
therefore ORT JET does not screen these individuals. It is
simply a facilitator in bringing those looking for work to
the ORT JET database of consultants.

Description of Project Progress |

ORT SA provides financial assistance
to students wishing to pursue studies after leaving school.
Through the SA ORT Bursary Trust, Jewish students are
assisted with interest-free loans for tertiary education.
The funds are awarded to students who wish to study at a
registered Technikon or University in South Africa. The ORT
Bursary Trust provides assistance for a first degree or
recognised diploma only, and not for students who could
already earn a living from their current qualification. |
