Every year ORT SA helps to build South Africa through education.  This means that each year tens - of - thousands of South Africans benefit by learning skills and being placed in jobs, growing or starting up a successful business or receiving cutting edge training and support in the areas of Maths, Science, Technology and ICT.

ORT SA’s 75th Anniversary in 2011

ORT South Africa was inaugurated in March 1936.
We are very excited that we will be celebrating our 75th Birthday in March 2011.

ORT has been an integral part of Jewish life since it began in St Petersburg, Russia, in 1880. From that time it has served not only the Jewish world, but the wider community as well.

We will hold various functions and events to celebrate our momentous anniversary and these will be publicised.

To celebrate the existence of this amazing organisation we are staging a fantastic, never seen in Jhb Yiddish Production. It is for all generations - take your bobba/mom/aunt and your zaida/dad/uncle on a date to the Lyric Theatre on the 16th of March. If you are overseas you can pay by EFT or credit card, let ORT know who to contact and we will deliver the tickets and arrange for transport.
