The Work Readiness Programme at ORT SA is designed to prepare unemployed youth for real-world employment by developing the essential skills, behaviours, and mindsets required to thrive in any professional environment. Whether you’re entering the job market for the first time or transitioning careers, this programme bridges the gap between learning and earning.

Help unemployed youth gain work experience and prepare for long-term employment

How It Works:

  • Encourages critical, analytical, and innovative thinking.
  • Provides networking opportunities and exposure to industry leaders.
  • Accredited by Services SETA.
  • Duration: 200 hours with practical work experience.
  • Includes Learnership and Business Development opportunities.

Participants gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge in:

  • Professional Communication: Verbal and written skills for the workplace

  • CV Writing & Interview Preparation: Build a winning resume and present with confidence

  • Time Management & Work Ethics: Develop accountability, punctuality, and responsibility

  • Teamwork & Problem-Solving: Collaborate effectively and think critically

  • Digital Literacy & Business Tools: Navigate basic software like MS Office, Google Workspace
