ORT SA Mandela Day initiative aimed at exploring plastic sustainability and environmentalism, specifically in the South African context.
Our mission was clear – to facilitate a conversation around plastic consumption and its harmful effects, and most importantly, to empower 70 students from Mbongeni Mgugudu Secondary School with knowledge on what we can do in our everyday lives as South Africans to make a difference. And boy, did they rise to the occasion!
We were honored to have @Habonim Youth movement together with the ORT Global Citizen Education students running the programme jointly.
All students were gifted with solar lights to take home, ensuring that their thirst for knowledge continues to shine brightly even during loadshedding!
