Let Kidz Code introduces young learners to coding, robotics, and computational thinking, equipping them with essential skills for the future. As part of ORT SA’s mission of Educating for Life, we empower children by fostering a love for technology and problem-solving. We have focused from Grade 4 students to high school learners, but in 2025, we are expanding to the Foundation Phase (Grades 1-3) to ensure children start developing digital skills early. We facilitate training and provide skills to teachers after-school, where learners stay behind to explore coding and robotics. This allows children to learn in a relaxed setting outside regular school hours, reinforcing ORT SA’s commitment to lifelong learning. We believe coding is the language of the future, and our lessons make learning fun and rewarding at all levels.

Joining ORTSA in 2022 was a turning point in my teaching journey. Through their support and training, I was introduced to coding and robotics, which completely transformed how I engage learners in the classroom. I gained confidence in using ICT tools and began integrating technology into lessons, making learning more interactive and exciting.

In 2023, I proudly led Rebonwe Primary School in becoming the first school to host the Science Olympiad online—a milestone that showcased the power of digital learning. ORTSA’s mentorship empowered me to embrace innovation, build learners’ problem-solving skills, and inspire a love for science and technology.
