Empowering your Habits Part 5 with Tracey Bosch
On the 2nd of November 2021, Tracey Bosch returned for the fifth segment of Empowering your Habits, and in this segment, she emphasised the importance of developing habits. In this article, we will review the main points of this informative webinar:
Question: What is a habit?
A habit is something that a person does often or regularly.
Usually, when habits come up in conversation, we automatically think of the bad instead of the good. We focus on habits that have a negative connotation, such as smoking, drinking, nail-biting etc.
If you have a bad habit that you want to break and change, first of all, you have to know what that habit is, and you must keep in mind that for 21 days, you almost have to train yourself to stop that habit or replace it with a great habit.
However, we need to ask ourselves the following questions before we form a habit:
– Why? : Why is it that you want to implement a good habit or eliminate a bad habit?
– How will this benefit me in the long run?: Knowing the benefit of creating a habit will help you to know what the goal is at the end. There’s no point in starting a habit if you haven’t got a goal to achieve in the future.
– Who/What am I doing this for? : You need to look very carefully at who you are creating a habit for, is it for you or somebody else. However, if you’re doing it for somebody else, the chances of it becoming a habit and sustaining it are very slim.
– When will it start? – Once you have made up your mind on creating a habit, rather than saying you will do it later, start right now.
In conclusion, if we eliminate assumptions, listen attentively, speak with kindness and are aware of our body language, we will be taking the first step in Empowering our Habits.
