Hillside Aluminium (South32) and ORT SA launched a Coding and Robotics project at Birdswood Secondary School in the King Cetshwayo District of Richards Bay.

The partnerships aims to ensure that there is an awareness and transference of skills in the IT sector. This is done with the purpose of growing the schools capacity so that they can teach and transfer IT and digital skills to their students, which are critically needed for the future workforce as the world moves to a digital era. Twenty teachers from four high schools in historically disadvantaged areas and representatives from the Department of Education, were there to participate in this inaugural event. We are excited to be a part of this innovative journey.
